Born on August 24, 1920, Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Hay Clarke; son, Ray W. Clarke III; daughter, Rebecca Clarke Cowart and her husband, James D. Cowart Jr.; grandchildren, Lindsay K. Cowart and James D. Cowart III; brother, Sherrod B. Clarke; and sister, Florence Clarke Moncure. Ray is predeceased by son, R. Stephen Clarke; and sister, Dorothy Clarke Hawkins. Mr. Clarke was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 207 of Richmond, and was an active member of the Legion of Honor of the Shrine Temple of Houston.
